I’ve had the pleasure of photographing family photos for Jessica and Chris twice now over the past few years, and I am thrilled to share these new images now that baby Ryan is officially walking! Last year I photographed a lifestyle style session in their home when Ryan was just a tiny little thing. You can see more about that session and those photos here. It’s so fun to see how much Ryan has grown and to see his little personality beginning to bloom. I love repeat clients for exactly that reason. It’s not only the little ones growing – I get to catch up with the parents too. It’s a joy to see how they’ve grown in their careers or pursued their goals over time. It’s inspiring and uplifting to see how much can change in a year.

I photographed this session at the Moss Family home in Natick and at Lake Cochiuate a short walk from the house. Ryan was so sweet and you could tell he loved being outside. I really make it a priority in my family shoots with little kids to try to let the kids direct the shoot (within reason), and just capture the fun and silly moments between the family members. Kids are SO intuitive, and when the parents are less stressed about trying to make the kids face the camera directly or sit a certain way or have a particular pose, it really makes a difference in how relaxed they feel, and the kids can really sense that, and it helps them stay more relaxed too. Chris, Jessica, and Ryan were a perfect example of that during this shoot.
